Dr. Tayeba Shaikh, Psy.D.

Dr. Tayeba Shaikh, Psy.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and Chicago-based co-founder of ThinkGoodTherapy. She specializes in women’s mental health, cultural identity, and mood disorders, with particular expertise in South Asian culture and Muslim identity. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to culturally responsive, thoughtful care.

Dr. Shaikh is the author of Hopes and Perspectives of Muslim-American Women: A Paradox of Honor (2018), a widely recognized exploration of identity, culture, and resilience. She has served as faculty at The University of Cincinnati, John Jay College, and The Chicago School, where she developed and taught courses on stigma, prejudice, violence against women, and multicultural issues in psychology.

A sought-after speaker on culture, honor, and gender, Dr. Shaikh has presented at universities and conferences around the world. She is also a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness in Muslim communities and currently serves on the board of the Muslim Wellness Foundation.

Outside of her clinical and advocacy work, Dr. Shaikh values time with her husband and three children. She is an enthusiastic TV connoisseur, a lifelong Cincinnati loyalist (especially when it comes to sports), an appreciator of truly good stand-up comedy, and an adventurous home cook—provided the dish comes with a healthy dose of spice.
